West Side Benefits
West Jacksonville Medical Center will bring many economical and lifestyle benefits to the community. The project will generate approximately 250 construction jobs. Once it is opened, the facility will require an ongoing employment of approximately 800 personnel with an estimated payroll of $60 million. The facility will also generate $1 million a year in property tax and $1.7 million in sales tax.
The West Jacksonville Medical Center will also act as a catalyst for the development of businesses on the Westside. Other businesses may see the project and be influenced to relocate to the Cecil Commerce Center corridor. Some of the new employees at the facility may buy houses near the hospital, which will benefit the construction and banking industries.
Both of these aspects will greatly improve the quality of life for residents in the area, as well as will the close proximity of a quality medical facility. Many additional high-caliber physicians may be attracted to the area because of convenient access to West Jacksonville Medical Center.
